Privacy Policy
Last updated: 7 September 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Cloudfind (“Cloudfind”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, shares and protects information when you visit our website at cloudfind.ai and when you install or use the Cloudfind application for Shopify (together, the “Services”). By using the Services you agree to the practices described here.
Who we are
Cloudfind provides tools that show how AI models describe and recommend online stores and brands. For the purposes of applicable data protection law, Cloudfind is the controller of the personal data described in this policy. You can reach us about privacy at [email protected].
Information we collect
From our website
- Information you submit through forms, such as your name, email address and any message or company details you choose to provide.
- Usage and device information collected automatically through analytics, such as pages viewed, referring pages, approximate location derived from your IP address, browser and device type.
From the Shopify app
When a merchant installs the app, Shopify provides us with information needed to run it, and we read certain store data to produce our analysis:
- Store and account details, including your store domain, the access granted by Shopify, and the settings you enter in the app (for example, the brand, competitors and products you want tracked).
- Product catalogue data read from your store under the read-only permission you approve at install, used to assess how your products appear to AI models.
- Publicly available content about your store and brand that we retrieve from the web to carry out the analysis.
- Records of the analyses we run for you and the results we generate, so we can show reports and trends over time.
The app is designed to read product and store data, not your customers’ personal information. We do not require access to customer records or order data to provide the Services.
How we use information
- To provide, operate and improve the Services.
- To analyse how AI models represent your brand and products, and to produce reports, scores and recommendations for you.
- To communicate with you, respond to enquiries and provide support.
- To secure the Services, prevent misuse and comply with our legal obligations.
Where the law requires a legal basis, we rely on the performance of our contract with you, our legitimate interests in operating and improving the Services, your consent (for example, for certain analytics), and compliance with legal obligations.
How AI processing works
To generate visibility analysis, we send store and brand information — such as your brand name, product names and publicly available content — to third-party AI model providers that process it on our behalf to return the results shown in your reports. We do not use your data to train our own models.
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with:
- Service providers who process data on our behalf, including cloud hosting and database providers, AI model providers, and analytics providers, under agreements that limit their use of the data to providing services to us.
- Shopify, as required to install, authenticate and run the app.
- Authorities or other parties where required by law, or to protect our rights, users or the security of the Services.
Cookies and analytics
Our website uses cookies and similar technologies for essential functionality and for analytics that help us understand how the site is used. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling some cookies may affect how the site works.
Data retention and deletion
We keep information for as long as needed to provide the Services and for legitimate business or legal purposes, after which we delete or anonymise it. If you uninstall the Shopify app, we stop reading your store and handle deletion in line with Shopify’s requirements, including the mandatory data-erasure requests Shopify sends on your behalf. You can also ask us to delete your information at any time by contacting us.
International transfers
We may process and store information in countries other than your own. Where we transfer personal data internationally, we take steps to ensure it is protected in line with applicable data protection law.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your personal data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at [email protected]. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
Security
We use technical and organisational measures to protect information against unauthorised access, loss or misuse. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children
The Services are intended for businesses and are not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice.
